How It Went Down.

With the 6th of July firmly upon us, it's time to give some of the details of what transpired on the 4th. It started with 30+ folks and their crappy bikes showing up at The Rusty Tool Shed where tongues were whetted with only the finest in malted grain beverages. After an hour or so of that, we saddled up and made our way to the Wisconsin State Fair grounds where a security guard tried to tell us we couldn't park all of our bikes just where we were planning to park all of our bikes. I informed her that we WERE going to park our bikes where we wanted. She was so charmed by My Bad Ol' Self that not only did she relent, she also took our group photo. Upon securing our seats in the nosebleed section of the grandstand, another security guard warned us repeatedly to turn down the volume on Santa and to stop enjoying ourselves so much. She also seemed immune to my charm and to my very thinly-veiled insults. I think she's a very lonely person on the inside.

Ooooooooooh! Aaaaaaaaaaah! That's my faaaaaaaaaavorite kind! (these are the well known sounds of folks enjoying fireworks, but not enjoying themselves too much)

Afterwards we made our normal stop at Gille's Frozen Custard to get our frozen treats on. After awhile there, we were told by some custard serving lackey's to stop racing around in the parking lot and to please stop enjoying ourselves so much. So we left and returned to the friendly confines of The Rusty Tool Shed. While the Wauwatosa Police didn't set foot upon our hallowed ground, a few of our group were told to stop enjoying ourselves so much out in the street. I did not attempt to set the officer straight on such matters as he had a gun and a shiney badge. Overall a very good time was had by all, even if none of us did get arrested. A big thanks to all who dared to show up!
